As a teacher, I can imagine that data collection services like surveys will be so helpful. It's always good to know what your students think about certain things so you can make sure you are teaching them and giving lessons in ways that the students will actually benefit from and enjoy. Specifically, if you're a high school teacher, you can provide your students with anonymous surveys. On these surveys, give the students a chance to comment on what they like and don't like about your lessons. Knowing the favorite parts students have can help you make more lessons in the future that they will enjoy even more.

From reviewing my classmates blogs, I really got to view things from another perspective. Throughout the blog experience, we were all instructed to be writing about the same topics. One might think that that would yield similar blog posts, but that wasn't the case. My classmates all have different opinions on things and have come across different tools they have found useful in this class. Reading my various classmates' posts about different education technologies in general really opened my eyes a little more. I was able to read about what they themselves found to be useful and why. I got to read about how my own classmates were reacting to things and further reflecting on different technologies.

It's hard to pinpoint only one educational technology skill that I would like to learn next simply because the world of technology is just so large. There are so many little random things I would like to learn like how to operate 3D printers. Although I have learned a bit about them in this course, I would like to learn how to actually operate one! In addition, I would like to learn how to operate smart boards a little better because I know I will probably be expected to use one in my classroom one day!

A type of learning that many educators are turning to is that of a flipped classroom. A flipped classroom is meant to be the opposite of a normal classroom. A "normal" way of teaching is having homework and studying out of the classroom and having lectures in classrooms by the teachers. A flipped classroom has students watch lectures online out of the class. Classtime is used to ask questions and discuss what was learned. This helps students really make sure they comprehend the lessons. It also helps the teacher know where the students stand with their knowledge. One website that can provide lectures for students is https://www.coursera.org.

All the open resources available online are helpful for all educators. Open resources online are a form of Creative Commons.Teachers make resources available for other teachers to take advantage of. This can be in either the entire curriculum or just specific lessons. Or even worksheets! A certain website that helps teachers and these resources is Open Up Resources. The website can be found here- https://im.openupresources.org

From the two powerpoint assignments, I learned how to do a lot. First off, I didn't know how to make my own personalized powerpoint slide template. I didn't even know that was a feature! I also didn't understand how to record my own powerpoint with my voice over it. After the second assignment where that was a required thing to do, I have become a professional at it! Overall, these two assignments really helped me get better at powerpoint.
